It's the End of the World of Warcraft
Well, maybe for some people, WoW is still in full swing. I quit WoW about 3 months ago and haven't looked back since. At first I wondered what I was going to do with my time now that I didn't play WoW, but now it is just the opposite: I'm wondering how I could possibly have fit WoW into my schedule. It's still fun to reminisce about the game with others who used to play, but all in all, I have no desire to return.

Carry On My Wayward Paladin
So Horde (at least on my server) has a paladin problem. I'm considering sending mails to Bob Barker requesting that he say, "Control the paladin population. Have your paladins spayed or neutered." You cannot walk two yards without seeing another paladin. When did this happen? I think there are three phases that paladins came and went.
Phase 1: BC Released!
-Horde got pallies, Alliance got shamans. Naturally, everyone had to try out this "new" class. Only a handful managed to get to 70 and declare this as their main. Virtually all of them were healers, save for a few ret and even fewer tanks.
Phase 2: Need moar tanks! (Towards end of BC)
-This is when I made my paladin. There was a tank shortage. Healers were in reasonable supply. DPS was bountiful as always, but nobody wanted to tank. Paladins are the training pants of tanks. Unfortunately some people think paladins are like diapers and piss all over the place knowing nothing about tanking and think they'll be okay. I made a tank and things went well. I never had a problem doing heroics and was even invited to raids without asking!
Phase 3: Paladins get threatened with nerf, but get buffed instead. (c. Ulduar-era)
-Where paladins were once only good at healing, they were now good at everything. It was not uncommon to see a two paladin tanking team in a 10-man. It was not uncommon to have 7-8 paladins in a 25-man. No guilds were recruiting paladins and almost every pug raid would say, "LFM Ulduar. No more pallys or dks". I have to wonder why Sparkle Magic of Proudmoore was hurting so badly for a paladin tank. . .

Welcome
Obligatory welcome post. . . don't really know what to say here, but it just felt wrong blogging about stuff like I'd been doing it for years when this is my first post. Well then, now that that's out of the way. . .
